Evening Glow

One thing I love about summer is being outside to see the beautiful sky during a sunset. The progression from a blue sky with some clouds to the bright orange of the sun over the horizon. As the sun drops lower, the pink and orange tinges appear on some of the clouds and the sky seems to come alive! Maybe this drawing reminds you of a sunset you saw on a holiday or with a loved one. Or maybe you just love these colours.

This beautiful sky was the scene of my son‘s soccer game in early September. It’s hard to believe the players could still see what they were doing, and yet the phone captured beautiful colours in the sky. My reference photo had a soccer net in the bottom left corner and a few of the players on the field, which I chose to exclude. For me, this drawing is a great way to preserve the beautiful sky as well as remind me of times with the kids at soccer.

“Evening Glow” would make a great addition over a couch or to a room that could use some bright colours.
